Acupuncture - an ancient and useful therapy

acupuncture

What is acupuncture?

This is a method of inserting thin needles into a specific area in order to speed up the body's healing processes naturally. The concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient system of written scripts dating back to 1000 BC, based on the holistic concept of healing and the recognition of the body's ability to return to its balanced state of health using the right stimulus. The use of these thin needles has many names today. Some of them are dry needling, myopuncture, electroacupuncture, etc.

Mechanism of action

According to traditional Chinese philosophy, the insertion of the needles restores and stimulates the flow of vital energy into major channels related to the function of internal organs. Today, science provides us with information that stimulating certain points leads to a specific neuro-physiological response, helping to reduce pain. Modern studies show that a large number of nerve endings are concentrated in traditional Chinese active points.
